Based in Toronto, I bring over 25 years of experience in sales, marketing, and business development across North America and Asia, having lived and worked in Beijing, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Taipei. As Head of the Media Business Division in Asia for Reuters Group, I was responsible for regional sales and service operations. In the role as General Manager of Reuters’ consumer media business in China, I developed and executed a strategic plan to enter the mainland China market, focusing on building a high-net-worth individual investor business as a foundation for growth.
Early in my career, as Director of Business Development at Reuters Canada, I harnessed the opportunities presented by the rapidly expanding Internet and online financial markets. Prior to that, I co-founded Starfish Systems, launching Canada’s first satellite-delivered real-time weather and market data pricing service for energy and agricultural commodities traders. At Micromedia Limited, I managed FIND/SVP Canada, the country’s first subscriber-based information brokerage service—an integrated research and business intelligence solution that delivered essential insights for decision-making executives.
At times, I imagine being in the MMA octagon… but then again, maybe not. The world is shrinking, business is accelerating, the competitive landscape is evolving, and disruptive technologies are more daunting than ever. Throughout this, I’ve built a capable, trusted global network of associates and investors who serve as a sounding board for me and our collective community. We Mentor, Motivate, and Assist one another. Occasionally, when our expertise aligns with significant opportunities, we make strategic investments or form mutually beneficial alliances that drive shared success.
